Jerome Kaino has received a one-week suspension for striking Chiefs prop Pauliasi Manu in a warm-up match.

Kaino said it had been unintentional, as he had been trying to free himself from a maul, and aplogised for the offence.

However, that didn't prevent the 32-year-old flanker from being punished and he will now miss the Blues’ Super rugby opener against the Highlanders at Eden Park on Friday.
