Scarlets fullback Clayton Blommetjies has been put on a conditioning programme to improve his fitness.
Blommetjies arrived in Wales from the Cheetahs and started the Scarlets’ opening Pro14 match against Ulster, but has not been selected in a match 23 since Leigh Halfpenny and Johnny McNicholl both returned from injuries.

Scarlets coach Wayne Pivac says the 28-year-old, who has ambitions to play for Wales, should return to the squad soon after working on his conditioning.
‘There is an adjustment period for Clayton and we are asking him to work on his conditioning,’ Pivac told WalesOnline. ‘He has been asked to do a bit of extra work just to sharpen up on his match fitness.
‘We do things a bit differently from the Cheetahs and expectation on the players is to be in a certain shape and Clayton has a bit of work to do in that area.
‘He is doing that and is not far off making his return.’
