South Africa will aim to peak in a potentially decisive Pool B clash against England on day one of the Cape Town Sevens.

Last week, the Blitzboks suffered a shock loss to the USA in the Cup quarter-final of the World Rugby Seven Series tournament in Dubai. South Africa went on to win the Plate, but it would have disappointed them to finish the first round of the series at fifth on the overall log.

This weekend, the Blitzboks will be looking to maximise their home advantage at the Cape Town Stadium and climb the Sevens Series ladder. They will fancy their chances in the first two Pool B matches against Zimbabwe and Kenya. They will also be favourites when they tackle England in the final match on day one.

The result of that match will have a great bearing on the final standings. On day two, the winners of Pool B will play the runners-up of Pool C. The runners-up of Pool B will play the winners of Pool C. The latter group includes Australia, Portugal, USA, and Wales.
