The Blitzboks bounced back from their Cup quarter-final defeat to beat Argentina 26-5 in their Plate semi-final at the Dubai Sevens on Saturday.
South Africa produced a far more clinical performance after a disappointing effort against the USA earlier in the day, and were far too good for Argentina.
Cheslin Kolbe scored a breakaway try after just two minutes of play, while the Stormers flyer then doubled that tally just moments later as the Blitzboks moved into a 12-0 lead.
Francois Hougaard showed superb footwork to score just before half-time as the Blitzboks opened up a commanding 19-0 lead at the break.
Justin Geduld scored South Africa’s fourth try, and his fifth of the weekend, early on in the second half, and although Axel Muller responded with Argentina’s first try, it was too little too late.
The Blitzboks will now play Australia in the Plate final.
