Dan Biggar and Liam Williams have joined Wales’ injury list ahead of the Six Nations.
Flyhalf Biggar will miss the opening three matches of the Six Nations with a shoulder injury, which he suffered in the Ospreys’ loss to Clermont on the weekend.
The 28-year-old joins flyhalf Rhys Priestland on the sidelines, leaving coach Warren Gatland with a headache at No 10.
Rhys Patchell, Owen Williams and Gareth Anscombe will now vie for the No 10 jersey for Wales’ opening match against Scotland on 3 February.
Williams, meanwhile, could be ruled out of the entire competition should he require surgery on a groin injury.
‘The Wales medical staff are hoping they can help clear the problem but, if not, he may require surgery which would then almost certainly rule him out of the rest of the Six Nations,’ Gatland told the BBC.
The two add to a long injury list including Sam Warburton, Taulupe Faletau and Jonathan Davies.
