Gloucester needed a late try to draw 31-31 with Bath, while there were English Premiership wins for Saracens, Northampton, Leicester, Exeter and Sale.
In the West Country derby, ex-Bath wing Matt Banahan came back to haunt his old side as he scored a late try.
The hosts fell 21-0 behind as Gloucester flank Ruan Ackermann crossed for a brace of tries in the first half. But Bath turned the game on its head in the second half, scoring three tries, after Semesa Rokoduguni crossed late in the first half, to suddenly take a 31-24 lead.
Then, with three minutes to go in the match, Gloucester flyhalf Danny Cipriani floated a wide pass which saw Banahan cross the whitewash. Centre Billy Twelvetrees converted as the teams went away with three points each.
In other results, Saracens took full advantage of George Smith’s red card to beat the Bristol Bears 44-23 in London. The match was deadlocked at 18-18 before the Wallabies flank was sent off for a dangerous tackle.
The hosts pressed home their advantage in the second half, with substitute back Liam Williams scoring a hat-trick to help them to a comfortable win.
The Leicester Tigers bounced back from a difficult week, which saw coach Matt O’Connor replaced by Geordan Murphy just one game into the season, with a 49-33 victory over the Newcastle Falcons.
The Exeter Chiefs continued their excellent start to the season with a solid 42-31 victory against Wasps in Coventry. No 8 Sam Simmonds and centre Henry Slade both scored two tries.
Northampton Saints flyhalf Dan Biggar kicked 17 points as they beat Harlequins 25-18 for their first win of the season, while the Sale Sharks also opened their account with a 21-15 win over the Worcester Warriors.
