Published on November 30, 2018 | Leave a response

Bjorn Basson will start on the left wing in one of seven changes to the Kings starting lineup to face Benetton Treviso in Port Elizabeth on Saturday.

Basson replaces Michael Makase, with Yaw Penxe moving from the left wing to the right.

Michael Botha returns at fullback, with Masixole Banda, who has played mainly at fullback this season, moving to flyhalf. There is also a new centre pairing of Tertius Kruger and Fijian Meli Rokoua, after Berton Klaasen was ruled out with a leg injury.

There are a further three changes to the forward pack. Martinus Burger rotates with Jurie van Vuuren in the loose trio, Pieter Scholtz starts at tighthead prop with Nicolaas Oosthuizen switching to loosehead, and hooker Kerron van Vuuren, on loan from the Sharks, is set to make his debut.

Ulrich Beyers will provide utility cover for the backline from the bench, making his first appearance of the season for the Kings.

Kings – 15 Michael Botha, 14 Yaw Penxe, 13 Meli Rokoua, 12 Tertius Kruger, 11 Bjorn Basson, 10 Masixole Banda, 9 Stefan Ungerer, 8 Ruaan Lerm, 7 Martinus Burger, 6 Cyril-John Velleman, 5 JC Astle (c), 4 Stephan Greeff, 3 Pieter Scholtz, 2 Kerron van Vuuren, 1 Nicolaas Oosthuizen.
