Western Province fullback Craig Barry will be joining the Cheetahs on a short-term deal.

The former Varsity Cup star will join the Cheetahs on loan to feature in their Pro14 campaign before returning to the Stormers and Western Province from June next year.

The Cheetahs also announced the signing of Griquas fullback AJ Coertzen on a similar deal, with the Free State side bolstering their backline following the departure of Raymond Rhule and Sergeal Petersen.
