The Stormers have granted utility back Craig Barry permission to return to the Cheetahs until the end of the Pro14 season.
Barry was initially loaned to the Cheetahs on a short-term deal stretching between November 2017 and June 2018.
However, following his excellent form in recent weeks, the Stormers informed the Cheetahs that last Saturday’s match against the Kings would be Barry’s last in the Pro14 because the Cape side decided to recall the 25-year-old to partake in their Super Rugby preparations.
Barry joined the Stormers squad on Monday, but according to Netwerk24, the Cheetahs have confirmed a deal has been struck between the two unions, which will see Barry return to Bloemfontein next Tuesday.
It is a timely boost for the Cheetahs, who’ve already had to part ways with star wing Makazole Mapimpi, who has joined the Sharks.
