Argentina have suffered a triple injury blow ahead of their third-place play-off against the Springboks this Friday.
Captain Agustín Creevy, wing Juan Imhoff and centre Juan Martín Hernáíndez have all been ruled out of action after suffering injuries in Sunday’s semi-final defeat to the Wallabies.
Creevy suffered a hamstring strain, Hernandez took a blow to the ribs, while Imhoff sustained a knock to the head.
In the Springbok camp, Fourie du Preez suffered a cheek injury against the All Blacks on Saturday, while Francois Louw required 16 stiches to his forehead, but both are expected to be available for the Boks’ final match of the tournament.
