It’s been confirmed that veteran Vodacom Bulls fullback Gio Aplon has suffered a season-ending knee injury.
The 38-year-old had to be helped from the field during Friday’s narrow defeat by the Cheetahs in round two of Vodacom Super Rugby Unlocked.
It’s now been confirmed that he tore his ACL, and will undergo surgery on Wednesday.
This sort of injury normally requires between six to nine months of rehabilitation.
