Warren Whiteley has suffered another frustrating setback after needing to be treated for kidney stones.
The Lions confirmed to SARugbymag.co.za on Tuesday evening that Whiteley had been in hospital on Monday, but was already back at home.
However, he is understandably not expected to be available for this Saturday’s clash against the Stormers as his season continues to be blighted by injuries and misfortune.
Whiteley has battled with a pectoral and then knee problems this season, which has limited his involvement in this year’s Vodacom Super Rugby season, with the Lions currently lying eighth on the overall log.
Meanwhile, the Stormers have yet to provide an injury update on Siya Kolisi and Pieter-Steph du Toit, who both suffered injuries against the Highlanders last Saturday.
