Jordie Barrett and TJ Perenara have been named in the Hurricanes starting lineup for their Vodacom Super Rugby opener against the Stormers at Newlands on Saturday.
Barrett, who was widely regarded as the ideal candidate to step in at flyhalf following the departure of brother Beauden, has been selected at fullback. The 24-year-old Fletcher Smith cracked the nod at No 10.
Perenara will captain the side in the absence of co-captain Dane Coles.
The run-on XV also boasts the experience of Ngani Laumape at inside centre and Gareth Evans at No 8.
