Bulls flank seals France move

French ProD2 side US Carcassonne have officially announced that they have signed Bulls loose forward Tim Agaba on a two-year deal.

US Carcassonne currently play in the second division of French rugby, known as the ProD2 and currently sit in eighth place on the table.

Agaba, who won a bronze Olympic medal with the Springbok Sevens side, joined the Bulls in 2017, making his Super Rugby debut in 2018.

However, successive injuries and the Bulls’ depth in the back row have had Agaba struggling for regular starting game time.

The 31-year-old played during the recent Preparation Series, but is evidently not part of director of rugby Jake White’s plans at the Bulls going forward.

The Bulls have recently been able to bolster their loose-forward stocks with the signings of Marcell Coetzee from Ulster and Jacques du Plessis from Montpellier.

The duo will join the likes of Duane Vermeulen, Nizaam Carr, Arno Botha and Elrigh Louw at Loftus Versfeld, who are all seemingly ahead of Agaba in the pecking order.
