Top 20 schools rankings (27 August)

Nelspruit's one-point victory against third-ranked Garsfontein moved them into the top half of the FNB Top 20 for the first time this season.

Nelspruit climb from 14th to 10, having beaten the higher-ranked Garsfontein twice this season. Selborne, whose season concluded two weeks ago, drop to 13th, with Waterkloof moving to 14th position.

Paarl Gym's 15-13 win over Wynberg lifts them seven places from 18th to 11th, while Wynberg slip to 12th. Both HTS Louis Botha and Framesby are lifted off the foot of the rankings, to 17th and 18th respectively, with Oakdale and Outeniqua occupying the final two spots on the list.

Over at SASchoolSports.co.za, Grey High replaced Eastern Cape rivals Selborne in the top five, with the latter sinking to sixth. In other movements among the top 10, EG Jansen lose two ranking spots from eighth to 10th, in favour of Paarl Boys' and Paarl Gym, who climb one place each to eighth and ninth.

Wynberg's decline from 14th to 16th, propels HTS Middelburg and Maritzburg to 14th and 15th. Voortrekker Bethlehem's brief stay among the elite group came to an end as HTS Louis Botha replaced them to claim the 18th spot.

At the foot of the standings, Waterkloof and Die Brandwag trade places in 19th and 20th, respectively.
