The Lions have confirmed tighthead prop Ruan Dreyer will be rejoining the franchise after finishing his stint with Gloucester.
Dreyer played for the Lions for seven years since making his senior debut for the Johannesburg team in 2012. He was part of the teams that made the Vodacom Super Rugby final in 2017 and 2018.

Following the 2018 Super Rugby final, Dreyer left the Lions to join coach Johan Ackermann at English Premiership side Gloucester.
Unfortunately, his time in England was less successful as he suffered a series of injury problems – including a ruptured achilles tendon – which restricted him to a handful appearances off the bench.
With over 100 senior appearances to his name in all competitions, the 29-year-old will add plenty of experience to the Lions’ front row which has suffered from the departure of Springbok hooker Malcolm Marx to Japan.
