Three of South Africa’s leading referees have renewed their contracts with Saru.
Saru confirmed on Thursday that Rasta Rasivhenge had signed on until 2019 after returning from a sabbatical in Australia, while Craig Joubert and Jaco Peyper have also extended their contracts for a further four years.
Saru CEO Jurie Roux said plans to extend the contracts of a number of other leading referees were also currently being examined.
‘The referees department has been working hard to deliver world-class referees and these efforts are certainly paying off. We are delighted that these referees have extended their contracts with us and we look forward to seeing them continue making strides in the international arena,' Roux commented.
‘Craig and Jaco are experienced Test referees and they are certainly among the best in the business at the moment, while Rasta has established himself as one of the leading referees on the Sevens World Series circuit, and he has a bright future ahead of him.’
