The Lions have confirmed sought-after centre Wandisile Simelane has extended his contract until 2022.
Simelane had been linked to both the Sharks and Stormers, but on Thursday the Lions announced that the talented youngster would be remaining in Johannesburg.
It’s been reported a clause in his contract allowed the Lions to match any offer he received, and after the franchise opted to make that move rather than consider an early release, they have been able to retain the services of the 22-year-old.
Meanwhile, the Lions also confirmed they had signed Divan Rossouw from the Vodacom Bulls as well as young Maties U21 playmaker Jordan Hendrikse.
