Colin Slade has been brought in to New Zealand's Rugby Championship squad as a replacement for the injured Dan Carter.

Carter fractured the fibula bone in his right leg during last Saturday's Super Rugby final loss to the Waratahs in Sydney and will miss at least the first two Bledisloe Cup Tests.

Slade had a good Super Rugby season for the Crusaders, scoring 198 points (four tries, 20 conversions and 46 penalties).
