The Golden Lions XV eased to a 38-17 bonus-point win against the Blue Bulls in round three of the Currie Cup qualifiers, while there were also victories for the Sharks XV, Griquas and Border on Saturday.
A 10-point burst inside the opening eight minutes set the tone for the Lions, who went on to outscore the Bulls five tries to two.
The Lions scored two more converted tries in the first half, through centre Jacques Nel and prop Arnout Malherbe, either side of Bulls flank Tapiwa Tsomondo's effort, for a commanding 24-10 lead at the break.
The second half was as lopsided with the Lions outscoring the Bulls two tries to one to make it two wins on the bounce. This was the Bulls’ second defeat in three games.
Elsewhere, the Border Bulldogs made it three from three with a comfortable 26-14 bonus-point win over the EP Kings in Port Elizabeth.
In the top-of-the-table clash, Griquas marched to a 27-17 bonus-point victory over the SWD Eagles, who suffered their first defeat.
The Sharks XV recorded their first win of the campaign with a resounding 48-6 triumph over Namibia's Welwitchias.
