Brendan Venter insists he will not 'coach against the Springboks' again, despite his involvement as a defence coach for Italy.
Venter has come on board as the Boks' new defence and exits coach in a consulting capacity, but on Monday, Italian rugby media officer Andre Cimbrico stated that he would be back working with Italy ahead of November's internationals.
Before signing with the Boks, Venter had signed a contract with Italy that runs until the 2019 World Cup. The dual roles have caused some confusion, with thoughts that Venter would be back coaching for Italy when they next play the Boks on 25 November.
It may well be that Venter's role with the Boks will be reassessed after the June series, and while he could potentially stay on for the Rugby Championship, it then remains to be seen where his long-term future lies.
