Former Free State and Griquas wing Leon van der Watt has been identified as the man who headbutted a woman in a bar.
The 50-year-old played 11 matches for Free State in 1994 and 49 for Griquas between 1995 and 1998.
Police spokesperson Chaka Marope told Netwerk24 that Van der Watt is still on the run.
'We don’t know if he may have gone to Namibia,' said Marope.
It's not Van der Walt's first brush with the law. According to Netwerk24, he assaulted former Free State captain Stumpy Fourie at a bar in 2000, breaking his nose and cheekbones, with the case being settled out of court. He was also involved in incidents in 2001, 2011 and 2014.
