Highlanders prop Brendon Edmonds could miss the rest of the Super Rugby season with a knee injury.
The injury occurred early in the first half of the Highlanders' win over the Force on Saturday.
After going for scans on Monday it was revealed that the prop ruptured ligaments in his left knee. He will require reconstructive surgery to repair the damage, which has been scheduled for later this month.
‘This is really bad luck for Doogie,’ Highlanders coach Jamie Joseph told Fairfax Media. ‘He is such a great guy in the environment as well as being an outstanding prop. We hope he recovers from the surgery quickly and rehabs well.’
