Sunwolves CEO Yuji Watase has confirmed that the Vodacom Super Rugby games against the Brumbies and Crusaders will not be held in Japan.
The Sunwolves were set to face the Brumbies in Hanazono on 8 March, followed by a clash with the defending champion Crusaders in Chichibunomiya the next weekend.
However, due to concerns over coronavirus, these games will now be moved to other venues, which have yet to be announced.
On Thursday, Sanzaar announced that coronavirus prevention measures will come into play at all Super Rugby venues. There have been 850 cases of coronavirus in Japan and four deaths, which has prompted serious concerns for a country set to host the Olympics Games in five months.
The Japanese government on Wednesday asked for all sporting and cultural events to either be scrapped or postponed for the next two weeks due to an outbreak of the deadly virus.
