Jean Deysel’s Perfect XV

The former Sharks and Springbok flank picks a team of the best he played with and against.

15 Stefan Terblanche
You could always count on Stefan to be cool, calm and collected.

14 Odwa Ndungane
Odwa has a never-say-die attitude. It was always interesting when he had a ball in hand.

13 Lukhanyo Am
He has a great feel for the game and a phenomenal skill set.

12 Frans Steyn
He is a big, strong ball-carrier. Three points are always on the cards with his massive boot.

11 JP Pietersen
His pace and carrying ability make him one of the best in the world.

10 Patrick Lambie
His is level-headed and one of the best organisers between backs and forwards.

9 Ruan Pienaar
Ruan is unpredictable and always willing to take a quick tap-penalty. He also has one of the best passes in the game.

8 Keegan Daniel
Every team has that one player you just cannot leave out. Keegan is one of those.

7 Willem Alberts
Willem is a physical ball-carrier. People didn’t give him the nickname ‘Bone Collector’ for nothing.

6 Jacques Botes
Jacques is one of the hardest working players I know.

5 Johan Muller (c)
An exceptional leader who made everything about the players. He was also a good lineout specialist.

4 Steven Sykes
Not the flashiest player, but was powerful at the rucks.

3 Coenie Oosthuizen
Coenie is not only a strong scrummager, but he is also one of the hardest people to tackle in the game.

2 Bismarck du Plessis
I would honestly rather play alongside Bismarck than against him.

1 Beast Mtawarira
You could always count on Beast for that extra yard, whether it was through a scrum or ball-carry.

Jacques Botes’ Perfect XV
Tonderai Chavhanga’s Perfect XV
Dewald Potgieter’s Perfect XV
Andries Bekker’s Perfect XV
Tiaan Liebenberg’s Perfect XV
Jacques Burger’s Perfect XV
Warren Brosnihan’s Perfect XV
Ryan Kankowski’s Perfect XV
Jonathan Mokuena’s Perfect XV
