The EP Kings have signed former Springbok and Sharks player Shaun Sowerby as their new forwards coach.
The Kings have confirmed that Sowerby will join the management team ahead of the Currie Cup in May.
'We have a young coaching group that we are grooming and putting together for the long haul, ahead of our re-entry into Super Rugby,' said EP Rugby CEO Charl Crous, 'The idea was to get young, dynamic coaches such as Carlos Spencer who joined us last year, Michael Horak who joins us from 1 April, and now Shaun Sowerby, so that this coaching unit can grow together and take us forward in the years to come.'
Sowerby played a single Test for the Boks in 2002. He left South Africa in 2004 to play rugby in France, and has since enjoyed stints with Stade Francais, Toulouse and Grenoble.
The 36-year-old loose forward recently announced that he will retire at the end of the current season.
