The Stormers will face the Cheetahs in a Super Rugby warm-up match in Cape Town on 30 January.
Cheetahs coach Naka Drotské confirmed the news on Tuesday, stating the match against the Stormers will be ideal preparation for the gruelling Super Rugby tournament. The Cheetahs have already confirmed matches against the Bulls on 24 January and the Griffons on 31 January.
A number of former Stormers will return to Cape Town with their new team, with Stephan Coetzee and Michael van der Spuy having joined the Bloemfontein-based franchise following last season's Currie Cup triumph, while Joe Pietersen made the move from Biarritz in 2014.
The Cheetahs will get their Super Rugby campaign underway against the Sharks in Durban on 14 February, while the Stormers are set to face the Bulls in Pretoria on the same day.
