Several of the World Cup-winning Springboks have accepted teammate Faf de Klerk’s Speedo challenge to raise awareness for the signs and symptoms of testicular cancer.
De Klerk became an instant hit on the internet after famously greeting Prince Harry while wearing nothing with but his South African-themed Speedo swimming trunks in the wake of the Boks’ 32-12 World Cup final win over England.
De Klerk also proudly showed off his swimwear at various intervals throughout the Springboks’ nationwide five-day trophy parade.
The Bok scrumhalf has now decided to put his Speedo-wearing antics to good use through creating awareness around testicular cancer.
De Klerk has – via his Instagram page – challenged all men to improve their ‘ball skills’ and to post a picture of themselves to help spread the word. He also urged men to check out www.fafchallenge.com for some important tips surrounding the disease.
Much like De Klerk’s initial interaction with Prince Harry, the #FafChallenge has gone viral on social media, with several men, including Bok captain Siya Kolisi as well as Makazole Mapimpi, Jesse Kriel, Cheslin Kolbe, Damian de Allende, Dillyn Leyds and Dan Kriel accepting the challenge.
