SA Schools sides set for International Series

Jacques Goosen and Jarod Cairns SA Schools sides set for International Series

SA Schools coaches Mzwakhe Nkosi and Phiwe Nomolomo have named their starting lineups for their respective fixtures against Wales and France.

On Friday, SA Schools A, coached by Nomlomo, will take on France in the opening match at the Markotter Sports Fields in Stellenbosch, while England and Argentina will clash before Nkosi’s SA Schools team round off the day with their international against Wales.

The U18 International Series continues in Paarl on Tuesday, 13 August and conclude in Wellington on Saturday, 17 August.

The SA Schools team will be lead by Jacques Goosen, who forms a strong front row with Jan-Hendrik Wessels and Blaine Golden. Bulls lock Simon Miller is in the second row with WP’s Dylan de Leeuw, while Keke Morabe, Jarrod Taylor and George Cronje round out the loose trio.

In the backline, scrumhalf Jurich Classens and flyhalf Kian Meadon are the halfbacks, Tyler Bocks and Henco van Wyk are in midfield, while Tharquinn Manuel, Keane Gelant and Zeilinga Strydom are in the back three.

Meanwhile, No 8 Jarod Cairns will captain the SA Schools A side. Cairns starts in the loose trio with Izan Esterhuizen and Josh van Vreden. Province and Paarl Gim lock Marco van Rhyn and Free State’s Sisonke Vumazonke are the locks, while Rynhardt Rijnsburger, Jacques-Lois du Toit and Philip Masango form the front row.

Border scrumhalf Daimon O’Connell and Glenwood’s Jordan Hendrikse, brother of Junior Springbok Jaden, are the halfbacks with Sihlalo Benge and Jacques Rossouw in the centres. Wings Indiphile Tyeda and Joseph Iye, as well as fullback Sibusiso Javu, are in the back three.
