All Blacks coach Steve Hansen says Brodie Retallick will undergo scans after leaving the field injured in their 16-16 draw with the Springboks on Saturday.
The Springboks scored a last-minute try through replacement scrumhalf Herschel Jantjies, converted by Handré Pollard, to allow the visitors to come away with a draw in Wellington.
Of more concern to the All Blacks will be the fitness of star lock Retallick, who left the field with 20 minutes to go, cradling his arm and appearing to be in serious discomfort after a strong cleanout at a ruck.
Hansen told the media after the match that Retallick had been taken to hospital immediately after the game, but did not know the severity of his injury yet.
‘The biggest disappointment is Brodie and we’ll have to wait and see what happened to him,’ Hansen said.
