Former Lions forward Ruan Ackermann has been shortlisted for the English Premiership’s Discovery of the Year award following his debut season for Gloucester.
Ackermann has scored three tries in 25 appearances since joining the English club last year, with his all-round physicality and versatility having seen the youngster quickly establish himself as first-choice regular.
The 22-year-old has been nominated for the ‘Discovery Award’ along with teammate Jake Polledri, Worcester wing Josh Adams, Exeter loose forward Sam Simmonds and Wasps flanker Jack Willis.
