Griquas hammered the Leopards 80-14 in Kimberley, while there were also wins for the Blue Bulls, Western Province, Pumas, Free State XV and SWD Eagles in round two of the Provincial Rugby Challenge.

The men from the Northern Cape were in imperious form as they scored 12 tries to get their second win in as many weeks.

Griquas wing Enver Brandt again impressed, as he scored his second hat-trick of the competition to lead the try-scoring stats. Sias Koen also scored a hat-trick to help his side top the Central Section log.

Meanwhile, the Blue Bulls recovered from their 39-18 loss to the Pumas in the first round by thrashing Namibia’s Welwitschias 73-20 in Pretoria.

Wings Andell Loubser and Duncan Matthews, as well as centre JT Jackson, all scored braces for the Bulls, who stay behind the Pumas in the North Section log.

In other results, Western Province wing Duncan Saal grabbed a hat-trick to steer his side past the Border Bulldogs 36-7, as the Pumas stayed on top of their section by edging the Golden Lions XV 35-26. Centre Tyler Fisher’s brace proved to be the difference as SWD Eagles beat the EP Elephants 34-20 while Free State XV centre Tertius Kruger also scored three tries in his side’s 65-31 win victory over the Griffons.
