Prop JP Smith will start as one of four changes to the Reds’ team to face the Lions in Brisbane on Saturday.
The South African replaces Reds skipper James Slipper, who has been ruled out with a collarbone injury. Centre Samu Kerevi takes over the captaincy.
Veteran flank George Smith is promoted to the starting XV ahead of Liam Wright.
At the back, Hamish Stewart gets the nod at flyhalf in the absence of Jono Lance, who is undergoing the return-to-play protocol after sustaining a concussion against the Chiefs last week.
The only other change is a straight swap on the left wing, where Jordan Petaia is preferred to Izaia Perese.
