The All Blacks’ No 1 World Rugby ranking will be on the line when they take on the Wallabies in Yokohama on Saturday.
While highly unlikely, a New Zealand loss by 15 or more points would see second-placed Ireland – who have not played since June – go top for the first time since the rankings were established in 2003.
A draw or a win by any margin for the Wallabies would see them move from seventh to fifth, above Scotland and the Springboks.
If Australia win by less than 15 points on Saturday, Ireland would move to No 1 with a win against the All Blacks in Dublin on 17 November.
