Several senior members of the Stormers and Western Province squads have been called in to give testimony in the Paul Treu saga.
An independent investigation is under way into the Stormers’ alleged mistreatment of assistant coach Treu, who stormed out of a Super Rugby season review meeting in July, based on the belief that he was being undermined by his colleagues in the coaching group.
Treu has since compiled and submitted a 26-page document listing his grievances to the board. According to a report in Die Burger, several WP players, including a few of the union’s returning Springboks, have been called in for questioning by the investigating officer.
It is believed the players were questioned about the contents of Treu’s grievance list in a room a few metres away from WP’s training ground.
Treu’s detailed list includes dates of when he was interrupted during meetings and when his insights were ignored by head coach Robbie Fleck in favour of assistant coach Paul Feeney.
