Bulls start Van Zyl ahead of Papier

Bulls scrumhalf Ivan van Zyl Ivan van Zyl/Blue Bulls vs Sharks XV 2017

Ivan van Zyl has retained the Blue Bulls No 9 jersey for their match against Western Province at Loftus on Saturday.

Coach Pote Human has opted for continuity as Van Zyl, who started in the Bulls’ last game against the Pumas, keeps his position over Papier, who is on the bench.

There are three changes to the starting lineup as Jamba Ulengo has recovered from his knee injury to start on the right wing in place of Duncan Matthews.

Two Springboks are added to the forwards, with Marco van Staden offering a twin-fetcher threat as he starts at blindside in place of Nic de Jager. Trevor Nyakane takes his place in the front row, replacing Dayan van der Westhuizen at tighthead prop.

Blue Bulls – 15 Divan Rossouw, 14 Jamba Ulengo , 13 Jonny Kotze, 12 Franco Naude, 11 Jade Stighling, 10 Manie Libbok, 9 Ivan van Zyl, 8 Hanro Liebenberg (c), 7 Marco van Staden, 6 Ruan Steenkamp, 5 Eli Snyman, 4 Hendré Stassen, 3 Trevor Nyakane, 2 Jaco Visagie, 1 Matthys Basson.
Subs: 16 Edgar Marutlulle, 17 Dayan van der Westhuizen, 18 Ruan Nortje, 19 Nic de Jager, 20 Embrose Papier, 21 Tinus de Beer, 22 Dylan Sage.
