Kings prop to miss Pro14 tour

The Kings celebrate their win The Kings
Published on September 24, 2018 | Leave a response

Kings prop Martin Dreyer has been ruled out of their two-match tour to Europe due to injury.

The Kings are coming off an excellent 38-28 victory against the Glasgow Warriors and now face a trip to Wales, where they take on the Scarlets on Saturday, before heading to Italy to play Treviso.

Dreyer, who came on in the second half, had to be stretchered off with a knee injury and has not been included in their 27-man touring squad.

Better news for the Kings is that lock JC Astle and prop Justin Forwood, who both limped off against the Warriors, have come through unscathed.

The experienced Rossouw de Klerk has taken Dreyer’s place in the squad, while centre Tristan Blewett, on a short-term loan deal from the Sharks, has also been included.

Kings squad:

Forwards: Schalk Ferreira, Justin Forwood, Michael Willemse, Alandre van Rooyen, Tango Balekile, Luvuyo Pupuma, Lupumlo Mguca, Rossouw de Klerk, Schalk Oelofse, Bobby de Wee, Jacobus Astle, Marthinus Burger, Cyril-John Velleman, Henry Brown, Andisa Ntsila, Ruaan Lerm.

Backs: Rudi van Rooyen, Godlen Masimla; Martin du Toit, Ntabeni Dukisa, Masixole Banda, Berton Klaasen, Harlon Klaasen, Yaw Penxe, Bjorn Basson, Tristan Blewett, Michael Botha.
