All Blacks captain Kieran Read has not been included in the 32-man squad for their Rugby Championship match against Argentina in Buenos Aires.
Read, who made his return to first-class rugby with the Crusaders in June, has been replaced by Vaea Fifita, with Sam Whitelock likely to captain the side next Saturday.
The 32-year-old is having his workload managed and will link up with the squad ahead of the clash with the Springboks in Pretoria on 6 October.
Sonny Bill Williams has been included in the squad, having recovered from tonsillitis.
