The inclusion of Niel Marais at flyhalf is one of six changes to the Cheetahs lineup for their match against the Glasgow Warriors on Friday.
Following his side’s 25-20 defeat to the Cardiff Blues last week, coach Rory Duncan has opted to make six changes to the starting XV to face the leading team in the Pro14.
Marais replaces Fred Zeilinga, who drops to the bench, while Malcolm Jaer takes over from Sibhale Maxwane on the left wing.
In the pack, Henco Venter gets a run at openside flank ahead of Paul Schoeman and Reniel Hugo returns at No 5 lock after an injury layoff.
In the front row, props Luan de Bruin and Charles Marais come in ahead of Johan Coetzee and Ox Nche.
Luther Obi is added to the bench as wing cover.
