Sharks coach Robert du Preez is wary of the Pumas’ threat ahead of their Currie Cup clash in Durban on Friday.
The Nelspruit-based team comes into the match on the back of a 57-28 loss to Western Province.
However, Du Preez said Jimmy Stonehouse’s side will ask a number of questions of his team after their narrow victory over a young Free State Cheetahs.
‘You may have watched the Pumas game against Western Province and while Western Province played well‚ I do think the scoreline was rather flattering,’ Du Preez told reporters. ‘The Pumas have a very good team and we’re expecting a backlash because they’re a very physical side.
‘I was disappointed with our execution in the Cheetahs game because we created so many opportunities and we didn’t take them and the tries that we conceded weren’t of our standard.
‘The defending is something we really need to be spot on with against the Pumas because they are good from turnovers.’
