Lock Lood de Jager has been appointed as captain of an extended Bulls team to take on the Jaguares in their warm-up game at Loftus on Saturday.

Bulls boss John Mitchell has named a 38-man match-day squad for his team’s last pre-season outing before they kick off their Super Rugby campaign against the Hurricanes on 24 February.

De Jager is one of three capped Springboks in the starting lineup, along with flyhalf Marnitz Boshoff and loosehead prop Trevor Nyakane.

The extended bench includes Boks Warrick Gelant, Jesse Kriel and Handré Pollard. Flank Roelof Smit, a Bok tourist in 2016, is also among the substitutes.
