Former Lions player Ethienne Reynecke is said to be in a stable, but critical condition due to a blood clot on the brain.
The 36-year-old, who has recently served as a SuperSport commentator, suffered a stroke last Thursday and is being treated in intensive care.
On Tuesday, Reynecke was reported to be in a ‘stable’ condition as doctors waited for medication to take effect on the clot.
Reynecke previously played for the Lions, Western Province and Cheetahs, while also having stints with overseas clubs Saracens and Connacht.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Ethienne Reynecke and his family during their difficult time.
The SuperSport rugby commentator and SA Rugby Legend is in ICU after suffering a blood clot to the brain.
We wish him a speedy recovery.
