Sharks’ injury list grows

The Sharks have suffered another injury setback after Odwa Ndungane was ruled out for the rest of the season with a torn pectoral muscle.

Ndugane sustained the injury in his side's 38-30 loss to the Free State Cheetahs in Durban on Saturday. Although it remains unclear how long he will be sidelined, the Sharks confirmed the winger will undergo surgery on Wednesday and that he will not play again this year.

Flank Jean Deysel (hip flexor strain) and lock Stephan Lewies (hamstring) will both resume modified training and undergo fitness tests later this week.

Flyhalf Pat Lambie will also start full training this week, but won't necessarily be available for selection.

Philip van der Walt (concussion), Keegan Daniel (abdominal strain) and S'bura Sithole (groin strain) will not be considered for the match against the EP Kings on Thursday.
