Louis Fouché will start at flyhalf in one of four changes to the Vodacom Blue Bulls team to face Western Province at Newlands on Friday.
In a direct change to the team that lost to the Golden Lions last week, Fouché's promotion to the run-on XV sees Tian Schoeman drop to the reserves.
Coach Nollis Marais has also benched Jan Serfontein, with Burger Odendaal the preferred inside centre for their trip to Cape Town.
Among the forwards, Deon Stegmann replaces Arno Botha but the former will start as flank, with captain Lappies Labuschagne moving to the back of the scrum, where Botha started last weekend.
In the front row, Pierre Schoeman comes in at loosehead prop, with Dean Greyling dropping out of the match-day squad.
'We needed to make some small adjustments as we will approach the WP match differently from the one against the Lions last weekend. I have brought in Louis, Burger and Deon for a particular reason, while I think Pierre will front up come scrum time,' said Marais.
