The Springboks have risen to third in the World Rugby rankings following Ireland's 21-13 defeat against England in London.

The top three now are the All Blacks, Wallabies and Boks. 

Ireland were debited 0.79 of a rating point after a second successive loss this past weekend, prompting their relegation from third to sixth in the rankings – below the Boks, England and Wales. 

England climbed to fourth position on 85.04 points, 0.41 of a point adrift of Wales.

Japan gained 0.91 of a point, which moved them one place up to 13th, on the back of a 13-10 win over Georgia in Gloucester.

The defeat sees the Lelos slip to 16th, below Italy and the USA who are promoted to 14th and 15th position respectively.
