Handré Pollard could start at inside centre for the Blue Bulls against Western Province at Newlands on Saturday.
Pollard made a big impact after replacing Jacques-Louis Potgieter at flyhalf in the 62nd minute of their match against Griquas at Loftus last weekend. He got the backline going and scored a good try when he attacked the advantage line and stepped past three defenders.
But with Burger Odendaal set to miss the play-offs after suffering an arm injury, Pollard could start at 12 at Newlands, with Potgieter keeping the No 10 jersey.
Bulls coach Frans Ludeke could also decide to play Pollard at flyhalf, with Ulrich Beyers moving from fullback to inside centre and Jesse Kriel starting at fullback.
'Burger made a huge step-up when it was needed in the midfield, he really made a difference this season,' Ludeke said. 'He is a creative player and he is a threat on the gainline, so it is a pity that he won't take part in the playoffs.'
