USA call on two Saffas

Wing Marcel Brache and flyhalf JP Eloff have been included in coach John Mitchell's 38-man USA Eagles squad for their end-of-year matches.

Brache, who was born in Los Angeles and raised in South Africa, joined the Western Force from the Stormers in 2014 and has performed well in Super Rugby this year.

The 29-year-old is one of 12 uncapped players in the squad to play the Maori All Blacks, Romania and Tonga.

South African-born flyhalf Eloff (23), who has four Test caps after making his international debut earlier this year, has also been retained. Scrumhalf Niku Kruger, who like Eloff is from Pretoria, has been omitted.

'We have an assembly now to focus on the game against the Maori All Blacks, while the other gatherings will focus on World Rugby rankings points,' said Mitchell.

'Slowly but surely we're changing the mindset of this team having its own identity and not being perceived as an invitational side. We're changing that and the standards players have to meet if they want to play for the USA Eagles.'
