The Springboks have lost the services of another sponsor, with BMW joining Absa in not renewing its contract.
BMW's five-year sponsorship, which included the car company's brand mark appearing on the left leg of the players' shorts and the provision of vehicles, was set to expire in December.
Diederik Reitsma, the general manager for group communications at BMW, told Netwerk24 on Monday that they would not be renewing their sponsorship, which follows reports that Absa has pulled out of its jersey sponsorship.
Although it's believed BMW's decision was a purely commercial one taken before the start of the World Cup, it will be of concern for Saru to have lost another big-name sponsor.
