Former All Blacks coach John Mitchell says he would consider coaching the Stormers, but reiterated there has been no contact at this point.
Eddie Jones has flown into London where he is expected to finalise his appointment as the new England coach once he's finalised a compensation deal with the Stormers, with an announcement possibly to be made as early as Friday.
Mitchell has been touted as a possible favourite to replace Jones, but the Stormers will only just be starting the process of urgently finding a quick-fire replacement for Jones.
'At the end of the day I have heard nothing, there is a lot of speculation,' Mitchell told EWN Sport. 'I did show some interest and was offered the job earlier in the year. Unfortunately, negotiations did not turn my head. I would always consider the position if it was offered, but I am not in a position to do that, nobody has spoken to me.'
Mitchell is currently the CEO of machinery company, Egli, which is based in KwaZulu-Natal.
