Five South African match officials have been appointed to do duty during next year's Six Nations, with Jaco Peyper set to take charge of two matches.
Peyper will officiate the France vs Ireland fixture in Paris on 13 February, and Italy vs Scotland in Rome two weeks later. Peyper is one of three referees – the others being Glen Jackson of New Zealand and France's Romain Poite – who have received two appointments each.
Craig Joubert has been appointed to referee the England vs Wales match at Twickenham on 12 March and will also serve as assistant referee in the match between Ireland and Scotland the following week.
Stuart Berry, Marius van der Westhuizen and Shaun Veldsman are the other South Africans who will be officiating in the competition. Berry and Van der Westhuizen have each been appointed assistant referees in two matches, while Veldsman will take up the TMO role in three matches.
Appointments were made by the World Rugby match official selection committee at its recent meeting in London and follow a detailed review of all performances during this year's World Cup.
